John Grisham Novels, His Writing Style And Brief Description Of His Successful Novel 'The Firm'

John Grisham is a household name, and not just amongst the avid readers of his legal thrillers. The background of courtroom legal wranglings is not everyone's cup of tea when looking for the mystery thriller, but Grisham pulls it of magnificently, probably because court room battles were a part of his job in the not-so-distant past. Born of working class parents, his early dreams of becoming a professional baseball player came to nothing when he bravely realized that he didn't have what it takes in the sports arena, although he plainly possessed good old fashioned stick-a-bility. He studied law in Mississippi and joined a practice as a lawyer in a small practice.

His first book, 'Time To Kill', which followed the theme of revenge of the father of a young rape victim, eventually got published in a limited run, but was not a huge commercial success. Grisham was in the habit of waking at five a.m. every work morning to write for a few hours before starting his job - his motivation was impressive. He immediately started work on his second book about a bright young attorney joining a swish law firm, but everything was not as it seemed. He sold the film rights, and 'The Firm' was a big success. The main character was played on the screen by Tom Cruise in the film version. By this time, John Grisham books were big business and he was literary man of the moment in 1991, at which time 'The Firm' was a best seller.

In his book The Firm, we encounter a subtle twist to the universal American idea of success in the corporate and commercial world. It's every young lawyer's dream to join a prestigious law partnership, work hard 15 hours a day and eventually winning that coveted partner status and all that it brings. High salaries, huge bonuses, memberships of all the best clubs, a bottomless expense account and countless other perks. Of course, these things are just the material trappings of the real success, which is to know that you have made it at last. John Grisham books have a habit of turning around the normal into something a little darker.

Mitchell McDeere, a bright law school graduate is seduced into joining a relatively small tax law practice away from the city by the promise of a large salary, BMW car and small mortgage for the house of his dreams. His wife is thrilled and they settle in to their new life. All new associates must pass the bar examination, and everyone at 'The Firm' helps him to get through. Two associates at the firm die accidentally while scuba diving, and due to the fact that three more died mysteriously in previous years, Mitch starts to become suspicious. Hiring a private detective, he uncovers Mafia links and contacts the FBI for help.

Jobs for Fresh Graduates

Jobs for Fresh Graduates

For fresh graduates, finding a job at the right place is the ultimate dream. Freshers look out for opportunities through campus placements, job sites, newspapers and recruitment agencies. Entry level jobs are offered by all industries. IT, ITeS, Retail, HR, pharma, marketing and other industries have jobs for fresh graduates. However, in times of recession, it becomes an uphill task to find a job if you are a graduate and are looking for an entry level job. At such times, graduates have to put in a lot of extra effort to convince the recruiter to hire them.

Though BPOs and the outsourcing companies have always readily absorbed fresh graduates, in difficult economic times, the hiring budgets shrink and it becomes difficult to get a job. However, IT companies are opting to hire fresh graduates and train them in-house rather than hiring experienced people on higher salaries. So, there are opportunities in the market still but one has to look for the right vacancies in the right companies.

Earlier, it was considered easier for IT graduates to find job but now new career fields have opened up for fresh non-technical graduates. It is no longer just call centres that offer jobs to entry level recruits but also fields such as retail. With big players springing up on the retail scene in India, job opportunities for graduates are set to multiply. Also, there are a wide range of opportunities in the hospitality sector, with fast food chains in the sales and customer care functions, in insurance and advertising sector and with MNCs.

However, in recession time, graduates should keep their salary expectations at modest levels and should focus on finding a stable job first. The priority should be given to gaining relevant experience in the field they want to grow as whenever the market opens up, they can cash in on the valuable experience that they gain now.

The ITeS industry does not just mean call centres. It has a lot more than that to offer. Outsourcing is done for many processes such as finance, HR (human resource), administration, healthcare, customer interaction services, technical support, telecommunication, manufacturing, medical transcription, back office operations etc. So, there are ample opportunities for graduates of different industries in these services.

In the insurance sector also, there are huge opportunities coming up. It is an untapped market and once the conditions stabilize, this sector will see a huge surge. In advertising also, there are a lot of entry-level job profiles. Fresh graduates are required in departments such as client servicing, creative department, media department, production, television and film, photography, market research, exhibition and event management, promotion and direct marketing.

So, the bottom line is that there are a lot of avenues open for fresh graduates but they must hone their skills and market themselves as better candidates in front of the employer. Jobseekers must identify the skills for the kind of jobs that they are looking for and spruce up those skills. This could include soft skills, computer proficiency, etc. Experts suggest that graduates should not take a vacation after college if they want to land a good job. Generally, it should not take more than three to six months to land a satisfactory job. Networking, keeping in touch with seniors is also a good way to land jobs. Some students get jobs through campus placements but not all are so lucky. Others have to try out all ways to find a job. One should not lose hope if good jobs dont come by initially. Patience and effort in the right direction are important. Getting advice from seniors and keeping a tab on the news and information from the job market also helps.

Graduates should work on skills such as communication skills, work ethic, teamwork skills, initiative and interpersonal skills. One could attend small courses that prepare the fresh graduates on interview and presentation skills. Another detail that should be taken care of is the resume. Since there is no prior job experience, one has to highlight his/her capabilities on the resume. Always attach the resume with a cover note talking about why you are fit for the job. Remember that there are many applications for the same job so you have to present a reason to the recruiter to hire you.

While attending the interview look and sound your confident best. If it is a walk-in interview, dont get intimidated by the number of candidates. If you have it in you, nothing will stop you. Let the interviewer know of your accomplishments at the school and college level. Talk of all the events that you participated in or helped organizing. If you have won laurels in extra-curricular activities, dont forget to mention those. Following these tips, one can land a good job at the entry level.

There are several Italian companies that plan motorbike tours throughout different areas of the country. One of the great things about Italy that makes it so appealing to motorcyclists is that it has a diverse terrain and no shortage of exciting roads and twisting and turning courses. In addition to that, this varying landscape allows for virtually any kind of vacation setting you want: mountains, sea or countryside.

Maybe youd like to enjoy an 8-day tour through Tuscany and Rome, soaking in that Medieval beauty while riding through the Tuscan hills dotted with castles and fortresses. Having been granted the title of a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Dolomites are one of Italys most breathtaking attributes. This 10-day excursion will take you through mountain roads, a narrow course that will challenge your riding skills, taking you around sharp curves and descents amidst the backdrop of the mountainous terrain.

To satisfy your need for speed along with a little sun and sea, take the tour around Italys island of Sardinia. In addition to the decadent cuisine youll experience on this 10-day adventure, youll also have the chance to take a dip in the incomparable crystalline waters. Of course, if you have always had some fascination with Italy and have a clear idea of the course you want to follow, custom-made itineraries are also an option as opposed to the pre-planned ones that travel with about 6 to 12 riders for an intimate experience. There is the possibility to rent a motorcycle there or take your own. If you consider yourself a riding fanatic and wish to take your own bike, make sure you are fully prepared for the long distance journey. Make sure your bike and its parts are in top shape, and if anything needs to be replaced, do so before hand. If youre not sure, consult motorcycle experts who specialize in motorcycle parts and expert advice from motorbikers themselves.

Is a New Car a Bad Investment

Nothing is quite like the excitement and feeling of buying a new car. But while the joy fades over time, the cost associated with that new car can linger for years to come. Few people know how much a car's value decreases as soon as you drive it off the dealer's lot. It's far better to save your money and invest it in something that appreciates in value like a mutual fund with a proven track record. With even low risk investing, you would be surprised at the opportunity lost by not redirecting that monthly amount into something that provides a return on your money.

First and foremost, a new vehicle loses value the second you drive it off the lot. So, for example, assume you just financed a vehicle for $30,000.00 over the next five years. In the first year of paying for that vehicle, it loses more than 20 percent of its value. In addition, you will pay a significant amount of interest on the amount financed. Over those five years you would pay $4,798.80 in interest alone at a 6 percent interest rate. Wouldn't you rather be earning that interest instead of paying it?

This is why it is important to think about the things that you invest in. Any asset that loses money faster than your ability to pay, it off is a bad investment. There are a lot of things that you could invest in that increase in value. Gold and silver prices are at an all-time high. There are stocks you could invest in, CDs, bonds and other opportunities you could discuss with a financial adviser.

Additionally, there are many alternatives to purchasing a new car. You can get that same new car feel from a car that has just come off lease. Many leased cars have extremely low mileage and minimal wear and tear. And you will be buying them at their greatly reduced depreciated value.

So, wouldn't it be wiser to use that same $30,000.00 to increase your net worth rather than to spend it on one feel good purchase? The decision, of course, is yours. However, it is important to think about financial investments and how they will help or hurt your financial situation. Before you make that decision, either way, here's a slightly different perspective for you to consider. A $439/month car payment over the course of 20 years, invested instead, with a rate of return of 10 percent a year, would give you $336,141.16 at the end of that time. In 30 years, that same investment amount would be worth $1,000,624.36.

Interesting Facts About Camcorders

Interesting Facts About Camcorders

Interesting Facts About Camcorders

The portmanteau name of camcorder comes from the two words that describe it the best that is `camera` and `recorder`. It is a device that records audio as well as video images and saves it in its storage device.
Camcorders (filmadora) that initially used analog video tapes were earlier used for broadcasting of television images. They were huge in size, and had to be carried around on trolleys. However, as technology advanced, camcorders that could record digital videos started flooding the market, and soon by the 1990`s they were so small and convenient to use, that almost every home demanded one of these devices.

Camcorders (filmadora) consist mainly of three components: the lens of the camera, the imager and the recorder.

The lens is the `light path` of the camera that consists of a number of adjustments to allow the user to capture pictures and videos exactly as desired. These adjustments include parts like aperture (that allows one to control and adjust the light), the zoom function (that is used to adjust the field-view area covered by the lens), and the shutter speed (that helps capture any form of continuous motion).

The image, that could be called the camcorders `eye`, is used for housing the photosensitive devices. This is where electronic video-signal is developed from the light captured, in quite a complex electronic process.

The last section, that is the recorder, provides a number of signal-processing functions that help in copying the captured and developed video signals on the desired recording mediums (like the magnetic videotapes).

Camcorders (filmadora) operate on electricity and these days, most commonly they depend on rechargeable batteries. Therefore it is a must that you select your camcorder batteries well, and carefully, since they are going to be with you for a long time.

Camcorders (filmadora) come with a variety of features, some of the latest as well as the most popular additions being the flat LCD camcorder screens. Screens that can be rotated about 290 degrees along the vertical line, and horizontally about 90 degrees are also very popular among buyers, since they make video recording a luxury.

These days camcorders (filmadora) can be seen being used almost everywhere. Be it the electronic media that practically depends on this device, or the low budget TV shows that need clarity of images and sounds, in the most reasonable prices, or the political protestors who need to film images to prove things to the world, or the happy parents who wish to capture their newborn`s tantrums and feel proud.Camcorders are just everywhere!

Camcorders (filmadora) come with various price tags (starting form just about a few hundred dollars to over a thousand dollars), depending on the features on the device, the clarity of sound and images provided, the company manufacturing it, etc. Much of it also depends on factors like the format used by them (like the digital format or the analog format that are extremely popular).

However, regardless of the technology these devices may be using or how sophisticated its features may appear to be, camcorders (filmadora) are very user friendly and can be used by anyone. One of the most popular and user friendly applications of camcorder can be found in cell phones where camcorders are incorporated so extensively. However camcorders that are included in cell phones do not provide pictures as clear as the pictures provided by the camcorders.

Needless to say, camcorders (filmadora) have surely come a long way since it was first introduced in the market, and judging by the rate of its growing popularity, it can be safely said that these devices are here to stay for a long time and continue to develop and grow. Camcorders surely have a long way to go!

Inspiring Bollywood Movie News In Hindi

Bollywood is a hub of Hindi film Industry. This name is inspired from Hollywood. Mumbai (then Bombay) is called Bollywood whenever the issue of Hindi movies is being talked of. Bollywood Movie News in Hindi is taken with delight because of the involvement of Film Stars and the dazzle come with them. They are as much celebrities as our great politicians who routinely come and go in Delhi news in Hindi. Along with maintaining their presence in news, politicians fill reel life equally in roles if not personally. Hindi Movies with political themes are worthy of a try in contrast to bad imitations of best Hollywood movies in the pretext of inspiration. People from film industry should have guessed that long back that Hindi literature is much more worthy of filmmaking than imitating anything foreign.

The concept of inspiration is not new for Indian Cinema. Good story line and perfect editing compensates for most of the difference. Selective Star cast with good acting skills act as icing on the cake. Negative criticism is mostly results from wilting scripts with weak direction of the movie coupled with minimum or not-so-serious efforts. Sometimes, it is felt that movies were great when Indian film Industry was in nascent stage. Post-Independence movies had reflection of originality and Hindi literature as the issues raised were justified by then prevailing sentiment of freedom. Then there were serious issues regarding poverty, illiteracy, unity, non-violence, etc. that held importance and audience appeal. We witness dramatic differences if we compare these two periods of Indian Cinema.

With progress in technology we have degraded in most fundamental idea of filmmaking, which is story. Creative heads take it for granted that superior sound technology, cinematography etc. could compensate for a story. Filmmaking would have been more than hype if the projects were inspired from any literary work. There are famous names of the same Indian cinema who have landmarked their works. Bollywood Movie News in Hindi has archived many such achievements that are referred time and again.

Works of fiction based on political grounds have often made good watches when they were translated into movies. Hindi Movies are also not an exception to this observation. Filmmaking efforts on this theme sometimes make Delhi news in Hindi when they invoke particular sentiments among Movie critics and audience alike. Bollywood Movie news in Hindi summarizes them as gossips for the sake of entertainment. We are yet to see that what place or stature Hindi literature can reach in this kind of environment. We can just hope for no more degradation of inspirations.
